Alix of Bohemia

During her studies at a university in Scotland and inspired by the mid-century Bohemians of Paris and the Bloomsbury Group Alix Verley-Pietrafesa picked up a needle and began making clothes by hand.

Seeking to create pieces which reflected the free-spirited muses of her studies and facilitated adventure, Alix of Bohemia was born, formally established in London in 2009. The last decade has seen Alix living and working in Europe, Asia and the US. Her far-flung travels, stories, techniques and textiles are the canvas of her collections.

Alix is the offspring of an Italian textile ancestry and generations of French artists, she currently resides in New York. She sews daily in her Atelier with her team, producing limited runs, one of a kind pieces and custom commissions by appointment. In 2018, Alix of Bohemia expanded beyond her bespoke pieces, and began designing and producing collections for the annual seasons.

Isabel Marant

While some dream of iconic women in glossy magazines, Isabel dresses women for their real lives – walking down the street or zipping off on a scooter. She never takes a piece out of her workshop without trying it on herself.

She has always encouraged handmade creations, and collection after collection has fought to keep traditional skills alive, an approach that she refers to as “the ecology of clothing”.

In Paris, New York, and Hong Kong, she has remained true to her ideals, and to her staff and partners who have been with her from the start.

Mother's Day Gift Guide

The B+C team has selected our favorite gifts perfect for mom, from Jerome Dreyfuss and Gabrielle Jewelry accessories to beautiful pieces from Natalie Martin, Nili Lotan and Banjanan.

Bella Skirt

Natalie Martin

Natalie's dresses are made from hand batik printed silk. Batik is a centuries old craft performed by the finest artisans in Indonesia. This painstaking process involves the technique of manual wax-resist dying. Once the fabric is painted with wax designs, it is placed in a dye bath where only the areas with no wax are dyed. The wax is then removed with boiling water, and repeated if multiple colors are desired.

Because this process is all done by hand (not one machine involved) and then dried by the sun, you will find some color and printing differences between fabrics and products. This is what gives our collection its unique charm, and makes each piece special.

Tibi

Individuality as an ethos became a running theme for a woman destined to become an entrepreneur, but raised in a family of artists, in a small town off the coast of Georgia. Experienced in American domestic business discipline from an early career in marketing and advertising, Amy began sourcing materials from Italy and France while living in Hong Kong. A wealth of experience has blossomed into 20 years of creating garments that take a keen departure from time honored tradition, and speak for those who aspire to be themselves.

To this day, Tibi retains its individuality by remaining an independently owned brand maintained by a collaborative team of creatives across all disciplines.

“I believe women should dress in a way that is effortless but polished. I love seeing someone’s personality come to life through their wardrobe choices. Contradictions in those choices are especially interesting: youthful and sophisticated, masculine and feminine, bold and muted.” - Amy Smilovic, Founder & Creative Director

TWP

In 2021, Trish Wescoat Pound founded TWP to offer her own take on American Sportswear. Working from her Soho apartment, she set out to design collections inspired by both the exceptional and everyday moments that shape women’s lives. Yet, what defines TWP is how Trish's own experiences unfold in her designs. A night spent dancing downtown manifests in a sparkling skirt; a day spent sketching in the studio shows up in the precision of a banded cuff. Each piece is a tangible memory - a souvenir of lives lived in New York City and beyond.

Trish was born in Oklahoma but is undoubtedly a New Yorker at heart. The aesthetics of these two defining places are ever present in all her collections. The clothes blend the utilitarian spirit of the American Midwest with a metropolitan sensibility. Each season draws upon Trish’s core influences: American heritage workwear, men’s inspired shirting and tailoring, and, without fail, a touch of rock n roll sparkle.

Trish designs thoughtfully and tailor intuitively - every detail is conceived with intention. Each unique cuff, or pocket detail takes cues from women’s practical needs and aesthetic desires. The TWP wardrobe is fitted to the dynamic lifestyle of their wearer – tailored to each moment in a woman’s life.

Veronica Beard

Thoughtfully designed with feminine silhouettes and refined tailoring, the Veronica Beard collection is intuitively built for real life—empowering her from day to night, work to weekend, and everywhere in between. We also empower the women who make a difference in the world by giving back all day, every day.

Warm

Warm is our life, our style, our world. We love women whose style is imperfect and natural, yet effortlessly chic. Our pieces are to be lived in—worn exploring, roaming, loving, and getting into mischief. Their ease and comfort means they are as freely tossed over a wet bikini as they are paired with the most luxe accessories for a formal party.

At warm, we often reference our dream girl. She is natural and easy in her sensibility, a bit earthy even. She is unfussy and confident in the way she looks and dresses and has an underlying sense of cool with subtle nods to skate, surf, music, and decades past.

Maybe she doesn’t always wash her hair, and her toenails might be chipped from skateboarding, but her style is always the topic of conversation.
